Hybrid
pegs have an engineering plastic head and an ebony wood shaft.The
(patent applied for) joint is unbreakable and invisible. |
* |
We
call the joint ‘unbreakable’ because
the joint is far stronger than the ebony wood. Already, we have
supplied over 300,000 hybrid pegs without a single case of joint
failure.
|
* |
We
call the joint ‘invisible’. If
the hybrid pegs are mixed up with traditional pegs even the
most experienced luthier will find it impossible to separate
them out.
|
* |
The
hybrid pegs are made to a world class high consistent
quality. The plastic raw material is made by Bayer
of Germany. Each peg head is uniform in shape because the peg
head is formed in a mould. And to ensure that the shafts are
precision turned, two high speed German lathes have been installed.
|
* |
Even
with the world class consistent high quality, the hybrid pegs
are very inexpensive.
|
* |
Hybrid
pegs help save a fast depleting scarce resource-ebony wood.
Hence ebony pegs are environmentally friendly. |
Hybrid pegs are available as Swiss pegs in
violin, viola and cello sizes - in polished and matt finishes, in
thin, medium and thick shafts and for retrofitting or as prefitted
OEM pegs. The Swiss hybrid pegs are available as standard or with
seven different kinds of embellishments.
In
traditional pegs the brass or bone collars often fall off, because
the collars are inserted from the tapered shaft side and the collar
(brass or bone) has to be equal or bigger than the shaft diameter.

On
hybrid pegs the brass or bone collars are inserted into a groove
from the side of the peg head, the collar (brass or bone) is smaller
than the shaft diameter and can never fall off.
