My Gard wheelie represents the culmination of a very important search for the perfect product. For my purposes, Gard Wheelies fit the bill. Immediately I was struck by the luxurious leather and the sleek, stylish design. Internally, the Gard embraces my trumpets in rich, thick padding which creates an impression that the bag actually cares for the horns.

The flexibility of the wheelie is not confined to the fact that it combines an airline carry-on style wheeled bag, with backpack facility. The infinite internal arrangements make the bag capable of handling any situation. It is truly a bag for all seasons too. The cleverly arranged raincoat, which so unobtrusively hides within the outer lining, can be quickly brought into use to repel the strongest Sydney storm.

The wheelie’s generous wheels are a perfect foil for the cobble-stoned forecourt of the Sydney Opera House too. The upright, front loading arrangement, with its smaller footprint, is also a great space saver in the Opera Theatre pit.

Of all its great features, the wheels are the ones that should sell this great product. Anywhere we play our trumpets, we can experience more stresses and tensions than we would like and it is a great comfort to know that my Gard Wheelie will help take care of at least one of those tensions by eliminating the shoulder and arm strain that can occur when hauling a bag full of trumpets using a handle of shoulder strap. I arrive at work fresher and more relaxed and can concentrate on the task at hand without back pain or shoulder tightness.

I thoroughly recommend the Gard Wheelie.

Thank you for your note.
Because of the size of a bari sax only one is taken on tour with me. I have two because of all of the bumps and resulting mechanical trouble that bari saxes can be prone to but one must remain at home.

As to improvements, let me first say that over the past few years I have found that Gard makes the finest made gig bags, I have all of my students use them and always recommend the brand name. I do this because I have found that you seem to care the most about using top quality parts and making the bags as protective as possible, especially compared to the Reunion Blues brand which I have never found to be of the same high quality as the Gard brand and I have had my horns damaged a number of times because of the lack of quality and protection built in by Reunion Blues bags, this is why I switched to Gard bags sometime ago.
At this point I cannot say anything about the Wheelie bags because I have not as yet seen and used one of them. As to general improvements I can suggest the following based on what I, as a professional player would like to see in a bag, especially one for baritone sax.
A larger storage space for things like stand lights, reeds, mouthpiece and neck. Perhaps a storage pocket for a flute in it’s case and most importantly, the following.
For some reason quite a number of manufacturers seem to think that backpack style carrying ability is important but I can honestly say that carrying most saxes in this style is not practical and unsafe, just using a plain single shoulder strap that attaches from one end to the other is much safer, more comfortable, easier to control movement of the sax within the gig bag and less prone to hitting objects with the gig bag. As important as this is it would be even more useful to have some kind of Velcro or buckle strap set-up on one side of the bag to secure a bari sax stand to the bag for carrying it with the sax. This would make our lives even easier, if we didn’t have to worry about separately carrying a sax stand with a free hand, to the job. Being able to strap it to the side of the gig bag would be an immense convenience.
With that being said, I hope I didn’t out-stay my welcome but you asked for suggestions and I do play for a living, I use gig bags whenever I can and these things would make my life much easier.

Best regards
Brian Axelrod

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Talwar,
It was such a pleasure to meet you both at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Sydney. I just returned to America, after my summer of travels, and wanted to again thank you for your kindness and generosity in giving me one of your amazing Gard trumpet bags. I have been using it in my travels and am so thankful for the extra protection that it gives to my instrument. I am attaching a photograph of the three of us from the conference. I would like to stay in touch with you both. If I can be of service to you in any way, please let me know. Hope to see you at another trumpet event OR in Kolkata.
God bless you both,
Ashley Hall

Very Satisfied customer!

Hello,

I recently purchased a Gard Eco Single Trumpet Gig bag from the woodwind and brasswind, and I am very proud to say I’m 100% satisfied. I Love this gig bag! Some fellow trumpet players I talk to say in general “a gig bag is nothing more than a ‘dent bag’” and Gig bags provide as much protection as a ziplock bag” I think your line of gig bags proves them wrong. I just got it a few days ago and let me tell you, I think its great! I’am going to definitely tell other people to buy Gard gig bags if they are looking for lightweight and durable protection. Plain and simple you guys are the best! Thank you for producing such a quality product, I’m very satisfied.

Yours truly,
Matt Storar
